Your Resources

There are many resources currently available to Guard members and their families. Guard Your Buddy is bringing those resources together to help you and your family better access them.

We encourage you to use them to decrease your stress, organize your life, and make things easier for yourself and your family.

Your resources are broken into the following sections and are also listed in their entirety below in alphabetical order:

Chaplain

Provides spiritual guidance and support to service members in addition to faith-based programs and conducting Strong Bonds events.

Director of Psychological Health

Free, confidential assistance with issues that affect the lives for our service members and family including reintegration challenges, stress, anger problems, and relationships.

Employer Support of the Guard/Reserve (ESGR)

Promotes employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of applicable laws, and assisting in the resolution of conflicts between employers and service members. Provides employment opportunities by partnering with Yellow Ribbon, public and private entities to train service members and families on resume development, interview process, and job fairs.

Senior Family Readiness Support Assistant (FRSA)

Provides guidance, assistance, and day-to-day support and continuity for the Commander’s Family Readiness Program, operations, and initiatives.

Personal Financial Counseling

Provides financial counseling to military personnel and their families on financial issues including budget concerns, credit, debt management, and investment education.

Military Funeral Honors

Provides military funeral honors upon request of the family, to honor the dedicated service of Tennessee military Veterans from all services.

Resilience, Risk Reduction, and Suicide Prevention (R3SP)

Provides guidance and tools to support our Commander’s Resilience, Risk Reduction, and Suicide Prevention program. The success of the program is a team effort requiring proactive, caring, and courageous people who recognize the imminent danger and then take immediate action to save a life.

Child and Youth Programs

Provides local camps and activities for military youth of the Tennessee National Guard.

Survivor Outreach Services

Provides guidance and assistance to the family in regard to survivor benefits, entitlements, and local resources.

Transition Assistance Advisor

Provides support for returning service members to assist with benefits, education assistance, employment, and any other issues.

Yellow Ribbon

Works hand-in-hand with family programs to ensure service members and families receive information on the services available to them throughout the deployment cycle.
